![]() I choose the “I Have a Dream” speech because it is very well-known piece and I want readers to focus on the effectiveness of the speeches’ rhetoric, not worrying about the contents and meaning of the speech itself. In a rhetorical sense they are tools of speech and writing that help to both amplify and exemplify certain points in rhetoric in order to better the means of communicating certain or specific points more effectively. This “rhetorical” refers to rhetoric, which is basically the art of effective communication or expository writing. ![]() The latter means a question posed for persuasive effect, with no expected answer. The reason for this was for a while I mistook its meaning as similar to that of a rhetorical question – they are NOT the same. ![]() I feel there should be special mention as to the definition of “rhetorical” or more specifically referring to rhetoric in this respect.
